Pinion Nut Size
96 Vette Dana 44, what is the size of the pinion nut? I measure 1.3" across the flats, and that appears to be a 33mm, but I cannot find such a beast. Anyone know what size it is really? The pinion seal is leaking and I need to replace it.
1 1/4" = 1.25
1 5/16" = 1.3125
33mm = 1.3

That's what I measure...I just got a new '86 Dana 44 nut & seal from Jeff Kopp...9422310 & 15583783...
My Sears socket set only goes to 30mm...Have to see what NAPA has...

Its 1 5/16". You could use a sears 3/4" drive socket but the outer diameter of the socket is too big without grinding it. A 34 mm will work but its loose and will damage the nut if its removed with an impact gun. Harbor Freight has a 3/4 in drive set that has a socket that will fit. The set is 42 bucks.

I only have a 1 5/16" impact socket (Cornwell); so I guess Sears stock will go up once again... :lol:
