My “infl rest” light came on this morning in my 90, I check for to see if any codes were set but didn’t find any? I remember Seeing something about the “infl rest” light but can’t seem to find anything.
there are som censors that need to be clean up. One is just behind the battery. Hade the same probleme on my 91, cleand the censor behind the battery then the ligth whas gone :) Dont know where the other censor are located..
the colision sensors on a 90 were kind of poorly designed. you need to pull the sensors, clean them and put a thin coat of dielectric grease in between them and the car when you reinstall. i think there is a description in the tech tips section.
TGlovka,
Sooner or later, I think all 90s will do this. Most probably it is the AB sensor on the front right. It is located on the frame rail under the AC Condensor and water drips on it causing corrosion under the sensor and on the frame. Call your Chevy dealer and ask if they will run a copy of Dealer Service Update Bulletin 90-436-96. It covers the tests and fixes. REMEMBER TO DISCONNECT THE AIRBAG PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK!!! The exact repair proceedure is covered in the service manual. Good luck!

How did I know it was a 90 model before opening the thread
The tech tip works, just be patient. It took me an hour just to reset the system and get it right after I cleaned and re-installed the sensors. Be sure NOT TO USE A METER OF ANY KIND on the sensors. It can set the airbag off.
