I have a 1990 and did some mods to the exhaust. It has come to bite me in the a$$. Here in Ontario Canada I feel our emissions are about as bad ad California. I removed the precats and sleeved the area plus I put in a high flow cat and now I have FAILED the emissions test. I ordered a new Y pipe and cat from Corvette Central and about to install.
I have noticed a difference....the OD of the pipes are 2-1/2" O.Dia. where I had 2-1/4" O.Dia.
Do you have 2-1/2" also on the Y-pipe and do you have the same for your rear pipes to the mufflers also? I need to know as if it is too quiet then muffler eliminators here I come...noticed that C.Central has a p/n for the rear for 86-90 and a separate p/n for 1991 for the eliminators.
Can someone help clear up this mystery for me?
Thanks
Bill
The local muffler shop replaced my precats with 2 1/2" pipe and a heavy bead weld... Must be the "one size fits all" school of thought
Oklahoma has no emission testing...
Not to change the subject, but does CJRN still broadcast down in Niagara Falls? It was an AM pop station in the 60's when I lived on the american side.. Was born in NF, NY.

It was a good station back then...1520 out of Buffalo was my favourite back in the 60's..oh the good old days I lived in Port Colborne growing up...now in Welland...20-25 minutes from either border.

Bill, you will be alright with your new Y-pipes. In fact, it should flow a lot better. Put a high-flow cat from Random Technology on it, too. Pass the inspection and put the non-cat Y back on.
Apparently, Canada's emissions are extremely tough. I replaced my stock front Y with a 2 1/2" Y with out the pre-cats and an R.T. main cat and pass with flying colors. My inspector says the numbers are better than before. This is in PA.
