Need help with serp belt sizing
I have an 85 with ps, alt, idler and smog pulley. I want to remove the ps, so i'm going to need a smaller belt. Anyone running this combo, or know how to size it? thx

The smog pump is gone, just a pulley. I have an ewp, all i really need to do is run the alt. I don't want to get rid of the alt because i have no desire to charge the battery in between runs.

Just estimate how much shorter a belt you will need. Go to Napa, Kragans whatever and tell them you need a 1" shorter belt than your stock unit. The Gates belts are sized in 1/4" increments. Buy what you think you will need and one smaller and one larger. Take them home, find what works and return the other 2 or all three and go larger or smaller. That is what I did on my bracket car. Thx. I have a flexible tape measure i can use. Was just hoping someone had the same set up and could tell me what belt they were using because it's mostly knucklehead kids at the parts stores and anything beyond using the computer they're useless.
