87 Vette ECM

Physically where is the ECM located on 87 Vette? Is it behind the big dash pad on the passenger side? If so how do I remove the dash?

its under the dash you have to lean on your back , passenger side kick panel area
2 bolts and will slide down

Pull the passenger seat and seat base. Then crawl in with your feet in the hatch and head under dash. You can then remove the ECM or other work. Its tight, but can be done.

i can remove my ECM in 2 minutes if i sit on the seat upside down, no need to remove the seat at all , after a while you will be able to remove it without looking , i had to do it all the time

Ive done it enough times, I can just reach up with a 10 mm socket on a driver and do it by feel, kneeling outside the car. I finally mounted the chip on the dash, so the ECM can stay in place.
