Im wondering if im the only person here who has had this problem.
The front passenger brake bleeder head was partially stripped (i couldnt easily turn it). When I was able to get it to turn with visegrips, it did not bleed fluid through the port. Upon removal, the bleeder did not have a port hole on the inside. Strange.
At the parts store, the replacement bleeder (based on part number) has different thread count and will not fit.
Visually matching to another bleeder (in the HELP section) led me to a bleeder that was virtually identical however it was just smaller, enough to where the threads would not bite.
Has anyone else had this problem? where can i get the correct bleeder? The calipers are stock i think, so is the bleeder.
Are the calipers a reman unit? Could be that somebody had stripped the threads in the caliper body so a stock replacement bleed screw won't fit. The correct thread size is M10x1.0
Not having a hole in the bleed screw is strange. But it may have been some sort of plug that was installed during a remanufacturing process. I would not try to make a replacement bleeder fit; if the threads are messed up, the chances are that you will have a leak. Get another caliper and make sure the bleed valve can be easily removed before buying the caliper.
get a 'bleeder repair kit'...consists of a new brass 'seat' and new bleeder screw to match ...caliper will need drill/tap for the new brass seat that is slightly larger than oem bleed screw (small $ job for any auto machine shop if drill/tap is not your idea of fun)
