I remember reading somewhere here that adding some kind of alcohol to your fuel will make your emissions burn cleaner. Does anybody know what I am trying to remember? I think it is isoproponyl(I don't think I spelled it right).
You had it right before, isoproponal (isopropryl) is best. If there is any water in the gas tank, methanol and ethanol will mix with the water, but not the gas. Isoproponal will mix with both water and gas. Don't use rubbing alcohol from the drug store. It has 30% water in it. Use DryGas. Check the label, because some DryGas uses methanol. Add up to 10% by volume. Also have your friend do 10 WOT passes from 0-70 mph just before the test. This will burn off any sulfur on the cat converter.
