radio change
Is it possible to change out the factory radio system to a non factory system and it not affect the car? I was told that the security system in my 1994 LT-1 was routed thru the radio system for theft. I want to pull out the radio and speakers from the factory and replace them with a new system but now a little scared to.Can I do it and if so how do I do it? Thanks for the help.

On a 91 it does not involve the radio at all. I would think GM is not going to leave you stranded because of a defective radio. It might be possible to program a security code into the radio to make it useless to a theif though. Just call any upscale radio installer and ask and do it while getting some prices for radio speakers etc. sothey want to talk to you in the first place.
