Well one of the 2 cooling fans failed today. To make matters worse I live in Arizona where daytime temps often hit 1,000,000º F in the shade. At least it feels that way.
I have called Autozone and Checker/Kragen. They both have replacements for around 50 hoops. Has anyone had experience with these? Are there better ones out there? I like the Lifetime guarantee thing but I like not having to do it more than once more than that. OH and did I mention I only want to replace these once.
I also have a jobber account at Lou Grubb Chevrolet here in Phoenix. I am just looking for a better cooling fan if possible. I think you are right though, factory stuff is usually tough to beat.
One of mine went out the other day. Keep an eye on the temp if you drive it. Mine got pretty hot in stop-and-go traffic but seems to be ok if it keeps moving. As someone advised me, make sure it's the motor and not the relay. Jeff Kopp is a good source, and so is The Last Detail Corvette Parts (www.tld-corvette.com). They sell the GM motors for $60.00 and the relays for $10.50.
