Why don't you set the timing where it belongs if your having pinging problems.. 6 degrees advance is the stock setting, that is where I would put it until you get the knock sensor fixed.. Its very likely that the plastic connector for the knock sensor is bad, these are known to get brittle and crack ....WW

No, not since I have been jacking with it. But earlier in the week yes. It seemed like when I would turn on the ac and mash away from the red lights it would go to clicking. Turn the ac off and didn't seem to notice it unless I was at like 206 degrees and hit it hard. And it only happens around 2000 Rpms or so.

"Update". Timing set to 6 degrees and still pre ignition. Also filled the tank with 93 octane last night. I have had an issue with running low voltage in her like; 11.0to12.7. I know it will NOT crank with low voltage. Maybe I need a hotter alternator...? The one on it is not correct. Its from a 85 chevy C10. Like 75amps. The one rates for the car is at least a 108. I will try that tomorrow. The car is starting to look very clean! I have it two tone dull/flat black on the top half of the body molding and semi gloss silver on the bottom half!
