Default Outside Door handle don't open door

Passengers side outside door handle on my 1985 don't open door and it appears that the rod that connects the handle to the latch is gone. Where can i get one of tose rods and the piece that holds it in place.

Thanks,
Bill

you can also get those parts through corvette america. make sure to check what broke or came loose to make it fall out. may still be in your door!

As mentioned, door parts usually don't get up and disappear. Remove the inside door panel and see what the problem is. Might be as simple as a retaining pin falling off.

I just bought the car and most of the interior was apart including the door panels. I did reach inside the door to feel around to see if the clip and rod had fallen off but wasnt able to locate either part. Don't know if the previous owner had found it and removed butdidn't give to me when I bought the car, I did ask but they dont remember since the car has been sitting since 1998 in a garage.

They are the same, what do you want for the rod and clip.

Look at the plastic retainers carefully....those break and the snap part of the clip drops the rods and it will fall apart again...They can be had at the 'help' rack at the auto parts store. Common style retainers.

I had to make one of the rods after I got hit by a kamakazie toyota...duplicating the part was not difficult. Holding the pieces together and assembling the lock lever, several rods and clips....was challenging to say the least.
