ZR1 wheel question
And what do they weight ??
From what I've read and heard, the original's were in the 20-22lb range.
Thanks..
They are pretty light for the massive size of the rear rims.
They are 2-piece wheels.
Spun aluminum outer shell with a cast aluminum center.
Joined together with a full perimeter single pass aluminum very thick weld bead.
No idea what the after market replica ZR-1 wheels weigh.
The only reason I'm asking about the replicas is because finding original ZR1/GS is tough and expensive.
BTW, what does a pair (2) of GS 17x11's or ZR1 17x11 go for $$ ??
I think I need the GS 17x11 for the 56mm offset.
Thanks..
I love them original ZR-1 front & rear rims.
I would like to have a 1990 ZR-1 coupe too.
Out of budget.
The wife about killed me last year when I took off suddenly to Michigan early last fall to get those rims.
She was 8-1/2 months pregnant at the time with my son.
I had to do plenty of "sweet talking to take off suddenly ! "

Check with the ZR-1 guys in ZR-1 Corvette Forum.
They get bored of the factory 1990- 1995 wheels & tires.
They move up to C5 & C6 wheels all the time.
My factory 1990 ZR-1 wheels are very strong too.
Rough sections of Iillinois roads not repaved under the current white house administration moving $$$$ around,
does not FAZE them.
Last year when I balanced the wheels I could see that there was less than .005" inches of Lateral & Radial Runout.
You won't see that tight of manufacturing tolerances used on many aftermarket rims.
Why there has been so many complaints in the past of C4, C5, C6 replica wheels "shimming at highway speeds of 60MPH & above."
I can be boring with factory wheels.
My Vette don't shimmy and shake even at 140 MPH.
Rides as smooth as glass on clean blacktop roads.
If you purchase aftermarket wheels,
before you mount your new tires, install each rim on a tire balance machine alone.
Spin it over by hand & watch carefully for excessive lateral & radial runout on each rim edge.
Anymore than .050" is Very bad & will shake you & your Vette apart with your C4 on the highway.
You can check accurate with a good magnetic base dial indicator setup.
I did it that way with my 1990 ZR-1 wheels.
Worth checking that way.
