Default 113 heads interchangeable?

Sorry, this may a stupid question but are the 113 heads interchangeable? Can they go on either side or is there some marking showing which side it is supposed to go on?
Just finished getting the dowel pins out without marring them(PITA) and ready to install them.
Thanks

Make sure you have accessory bolt holes on the front. I'm not sure, but I don't think all bolt holes are on both ends on mine.

The ones I bought for my firebird have the exact same holes on front and back.

Just be aware that the head that was originally on the Drv side ( unless from '88-'89 car that had Aux fan option / switch ) has a very hard to get out blank plug in it between # 1 and 3 plugs.
So save yourself so trouble and put the head with the open threaded hole on the the Pass side ( for temp gauge sensor between # 6 and 8 ))

All production heads are interchangeable and new replacements don't come with anything in the threaded bosses which are used for temp senders and fan switches. If yours doesn't use one or the other then you'll need a pipe plug. Current production 113's use LT4 valve springs and the front and rear intake mounting holes are counterbored for intake gaskets with alignment retainers (and the Vette intake gaskets for these heads can be difficult to find).

85 and 86E iron heads have accessory bolt holes only on one side, so that is not a stupid question.
