Last weeek my car started dripping coolant at the lower left front corner of the driver side head. I looked real close. Not at the front of the motor or under the H2O pump. Just off the corner of the head. So I did the job. Only real hassel was getting the Y pipe off the TPIS headers. Bitchbitchbitch. Anyway I got it done drove it. All good. Next day the drip was back. Exact same spot. One hour later It was back together with new H2O pump gaskets and actually fixed. I fixed the wrong thing. Spent $35 on gaskets that I didnt need. I am an idiot. That is all.
And next time you do the head gasket, you'll do it in half the time.
I could have done it in 3 hours this time. I dont know how much time I spent beating the crap out of th Y pipe trying to remove it. I finally cut 4 slots around them and it was still a fight. Of course, then I had to repair and repaint the Y pipe so it doesnt rust out.
Sometimes I do something that just goes WRONG. This seemed so wrong I thought, hell I cant keep it to myself.
