Default Disconnect engine wire harness?

I'm disassembling a 84 and have come up against a tough wire harness connector. Anyone have a trick to separating the main harness connector from the connector at the fire wall? Seems like it has "Grown" together. Don't want to tear it up so it can be reused.

Thanks

P.M.

There is a long screw with hex head (7mm? ) in the center of the plug ( buried between the wires ) that holds the two plugs together

Which are you refering to?

if its the one by the passenger side valve cover...that has grown together..thats only a bulkhead seal. It's solid wire harness.

The one by the battery is a plug and has clips that take 3 hands to pry up and apart.

That also has a good handful of the sealant that GM uses on their electrical connections...a black grease of some sort..very tacky and tough to seperate.
