Reher-Morrision inspected it and gave thumbs up, the guy had it sitting for a few years. He does not do any serious racing any more, it was in a 468 small block with plenty of nitrous. Scratch was caused by the aluminum block flexing because the same thing happen to another crank, it did not happen when he used a steel block.
You found yourself & purchased a very Good Deal.

Lunati makes very nice custom stroker crankshafts.

The price tag on those all aluminum Gen 1 SBC standard configuration, Tall decks, raised cam tunnels, 4.500" bore spacing is shocking.........
$5K to $7K.

The well off super late model dirt track guys use those all aluminum Gen 1 sbc.

Even worse when a cheap "H" beam oversees connecting rod lets go and punches holes through the side of that expensive aluminum block.
And destroys the cylinder wall & cylinder head.
Breaks the Billet roller camshaft in 2 also.

Seen that in my friend's machine several times over the last 10 years.

Carillo's & Crower's connecting rods don't let go.
Engine stays together till the end of the racing season.

They turn them 8,500- 9,000 rpm's for 20 to 50 laps every Saturday night weather permitting( no heavy rain).

Yes, but you have to remember that was on a 358 CI engine running a 9000 rpm around a oval track, or used in all out drag motor in later years. If you get a SB2 / 2.2 to use on a big inch small block, it will need to port for your application.

I have a top end for one of these (intake, heads, shafts, exhaust). Intended at one time to put together a nice SBC, yet they still sit.

Maybe one day???
