I found a broken 1/2" diamter rubber hose going form the part pictured here"...it's located under the cover above the pass side head..and the hose goes to a metal tube coming form under the car, it appears.. next to th sidshiled washer fluid resevoir.. also shown(but sideways)
I am replacingthe hose, but wandering what it,and the part it's connected to does..It smells like gas inside, btw..Also is that "L" shaped 1/4" hose attached to the side of it supposed to be connected to anything?
Hope I attached the pics correctly and they can be seen
Also, for anyone whois interested..I posted a couple of weks ago about 92 ZR-1 I want to buy,and I created an album with a couple of pics of it.
Looks like the canister purge solenoid, the short hose should attach to the intake manifold. When activated by the PCM it allows vapor from the fuel tank to be pulled into the intake to be burned by the engine.
The small hose off the solenoid is not attached to anything. It is a fresh air vent.
Thanks for the correction, looks like there must have been a change between my 93 and the 96. My earlier car only has two hoses going the solenoid and the short one is manifold vacuum as shown in the vacuum diagram here.
