Default antenae mast replacement

Got mine today - any tips on changing them - it looks pretty straight forward, but wanted to see if anyone knew of anything to look out for.

Mike: I replaced the mast on my 89 about 2 months ago and it works great. However, it is not a quick or easy task. I have a GM factory manual which details the steps to do this job. If you would like a fax or mail copy of this, please send me an email.

Regards, Sam

I think you are very optimistic! I spent about 5 hours on this. You will have to remove most of the left rear interior and disconnect the antennal and power leads. You will then jack up the left rear, remove the wheel and plastic wheel well. After doing all of this, just remove the two screws and ground strap. At this point you have it out. I assume the old cable is broken......this requires you to disassemble the motor unit. Good luck!!!

 I don't know if the cable is broke - I am just going to try it from the top first and see if the cable is in one piece. the motor still works

Please make sure the length of cable that you remove is the same length of the new one. If it is not, the broken cable left in the motor assembly will cause you a problem!!!
