I'm going to be replacing the valve seals on my 87 L98 very soon, and when I do, I'm going to put on a new set of springs and a set of Roller Rockers. Anyone have the part #'s handy for these parts. I need the springs (just a set that are good, it's an entirely stock motor, just really looking to freshen it up with the new springs), also need a nice set of 1.5:1 Roller Tip Rocker Arms. Thanks!
P.S.- Is there anything else I need to replace when I replace the seals?
Re: valve spring part #, Roller Rocker Arms part # (TIMSPEED)
You should also get a set of machined keepers, not the stamped ones. Ask Scorp about that one.
If you're going to upgrade rocker arms, go with a set of full rollers for less friction, cooler operation, and about 10hp gain.
In your case I suggest the self-aligning 1.5:1 for 3/8" studs ProMagnums from Comp Cams. I don't have the part number but you can call Summit or Comp Cams direct for the part # & springs to match. Either can supply both seals, RRs and springs. Also get a variety pack of spring shims.
Springs K motion k-700 will do fine for a stock cam.
Rockers,.... The stock ones have a roller tip and a half moon ball for a fulcrum. (1.5 ratio) The full roller has a roller tip and the roller fulcrum. Full rollers are obviously more expensive.
I have a set of Comp Cam #1412-16 Typical $131.95 I'll sell for $70+s/h they are CS Magnum Steel Roller Rockers 1.5:1. Basically what you have now. Either way you want a self aligned roller, which is what these are. Email me if you are interested.
