I'm getting ready to replace the Antenna cable on my '85 Coupe. Two things I'm trying to figure out. First, does anyone know the exact path the cable takes from the radio back to the antenna? Second, any extra advice/suggestions/recommendations for things to do or not do while I'm replacing this cable?
it runs from the antenna , behind the drivers seat, down the passenger side of the console, and into the back of the radio. its alot more work than you would think, might be easier to leave the old one alone and just run the new one under the carpet.
Hoping you can help a little more with this antenna replacement. I went out, thought I was getting a great deal on an antenna extension cable, then I ran into one more snag. I had purchased and installed the harada replacement antenna a couple years ago. The way the plug is on there, the male connector is spring loaded so the female connector has to push that down in order to expose the post and then lock into place. The cheap extension cable has been unable to do that. It just doesn't lock into place.
I've checked Eckler's, Corvette Central, Corvette America and MA MotorWorks for extension cables for the 85. Can't seem to find any. Any thoughts on where else to go and look?
You know, I keep on forgetting about some of those guys. Checked out Advance and AutoZone and all they had were the small 12" adaptors. I'll have to check napa and PepBoys. Thanks for the reminder.
