Poor mans interior resto
I recovered the passenger seat with approx 15 dollars worth of black vinyl. The carpet was 75 dollars, which i cut and shaped myself. Panels where repainted with semigloss black exterior spray paint and clear coated. Brown vinyl pieces were re painted with a black vinyl spray paint. Paint supplies where about 75 dollars.
All new carpet, all the panels painted, new shifter boot, dash grills recovered in leather, steering wheel cover(which i used way to much glue on and it leaked out) Any brown was changed to black, the only thing left are the seat belts, which im leaving, unless i can find a black set for free. Total cost about 300cnd
200US .This is about a grand less than repo parts cost. Pretty labour intensive took me a few months, but alot cheaper than buying new parts and it looks damn good. All i have left to do is recover the drivers seat and fix my broken headlight ****, glue gun will cure it.
I cleaned up the pictures as best i could, there was some sun wash.

if necessary i cut a seam along a hidden area. For the foot wells to get rid of the ripples from folding it, i sliced it down the middle then i sewed up the seam, glued it down and threw a carpeted floor mat over it. You cant even tell.
If you get the time i would be very interested in knowing exactly what it took for you to complete the steering wheel. What materials did you use, and where i can i pick some up at?
Looks like you did a very good job
