Default difference between 84 and 85 bellhousing

Quicktime offers a scattershield for and 84 (RM-6021-SFI) and Lakewood offers a scattershield for 85-91 Camaro's (15020) I don't want to buy the wrong one. Mr Gasket, which has quicktime and lakewood in their company basket doesn't know for sure. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

..... Are you looking for Corvette parts or Camaro ? ... the '84 - '88 vettes used a 4+3 transmission which would have the same bolt pattern as a Borg Warner T-10 or Super T-10 , Muncie , or Saginaw 4 speed .... the F-body stuff used Saginaw , Super T-10 , and the Borg Warner T-5 ... the T-5 is the odd one because the trans was tilted toward the drivers side at a 17 degree angle to get the shifter thru the same hole in the console , I believe they ALL used hydraulic clutch actuation ..... so , it would seem to matter most with regards to which transmission you intended to use ... the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same on ALL Chevy V-8's ... the difference is the trans bolt pattern and clutch actuation access through the side of the housing and the correct bracketry on the bellhousing for the application .....

I have an 85 vette, 400 SB richmond 6sp, I'm having issues with the rear bushing/seal, richmond suggested I try another bellhousing as I've dialed in the center locating bore and still have the seal bushing issue. This is the third engine with same bellhousing trans seal problems with all three. Each progressive engine has had increased power and the frequency of seal problems has increased with increased power. From the safety aspect I think a scattershield would be wise. I spin the engine to 7K. If an 84 and 85 are the same as for clutch mount no problem. thanks

MIke look in the C3 tech section there is a thread about the leak issue and a fix.
