Default Just Bought A 1996 Corvette

Hey everyone, Well, I broke down and got myself a 1996 Corvette automatic, hard top. There are some light scratches you can barely see because the car is wight. Anyways, how many types of engine was used in the 1996. The Vin#1G1YY22P9T5105105. Can anyone decipher the vin and let me know what options I have and which engine also. It's being shipped so I probably won't get it until next week. I will put up picture when I get it so if everyone can guess how much I paid.

Thanks,
Ed

only engine you could get in 96 with the auto was the 300hp LT1

Open the console lid door see if theres a sticker there. Should list option codes. At least on the earlier C4s thats where they were.

You could get the 330hp LT4 if yours was a 6 spd.

Auto= LT-1 6sp. = LT-4 and having a LT-4 does not equal to Gran Sport

For '96 (at least on the coupes), the RPO sticker is in this location (behind passenger seat).

The "P" in the VIN you listed means you have the LT1

But as cuisinartvette mentioned, that was the only engine available in a '96 automatic Corvette.

You can also order a reproduction of the "build sheet" and window sticker from the Corvette Museum.
Sometimes they are interesting to have.
