I ususally leave the keys in my 93 when its parked in my garage at home. I'll place them on the passenger seat, so the alarm doesn't arm when I take the keys upstairs. Every so often, the car still sets the alarm with the keys in the car. Lucky for me the windows are down. I remember reading a post that if this happens you can jiggle the car to jog the entry system and unlock the car. I can't find the archived post about the guy who got locked out of his car - someone gave an explanation why that happens in that post.
Sometimes the car arms the alarm with keys in car and sometimes it doesn't.
When we are atthe track, those of us who have them will either disable it or leave the keys in the ignition to avoid the horn honking(it really is annoying everytime it activates).
But yes you can just shake the car(assuming the battery in the PKE is good) and the door will open.
Place the PKE next to ear and give it a jiggle. You will hear the very sensitive to movement motion switch inside that tells the PKE to transmit a signal. That is why it will still lock while in your car. Shake car hard enough and doors will unlock. :seeya
