I don't want to spend a ton of cash but I would like to have one that actually works in my car... I find myself over the limit  more often lately!!!
Re: Anyone selling a radar detector??? (INDEBT4MYVETTE)
Get a Cobra from local discount house. It may not be the "best" unit but has good range and detects all known measures. For about $70 you can't go wrong.
It is small enough to mount above and to the left of the inside mirror. You can wire it into the non-dimable mirror light for a stealth installation and it will power on/off with the ignition sw.
If the locals use LINDAR, install the brighter fog bulgs and run with them On (it tends to blind the Laser feedback to give you an edge as it is only used aimed at the front of you car).
Sorry, but I'm not selling mine.
Of course vigulence and running with traffic is the best counter measure.
my cobra has saved my butt countless times...... :yesnod: :yesnod:
all this bs about people saying radar detectors dont work are lying or dont know, my radar always gives me enough time to slow down before the fuzz gets there radar on me........
Re: Anyone selling a radar detector??? (INDEBT4MYVETTE)
Depend on where you live. In CT they have enough cash to go totally laser. Radar is for the most part a thing of the past. I had a detector but find for laser it was useless. If you are in a state where radar is still used considerably i say go for the cobra.
Re: Anyone selling a radar detector??? (INDEBT4MYVETTE)
Not selling one but I've been using a K40 for the past year and a half it picks up everything on all sides including laser and instant on laser. I also has a good filtering system which virtually eliminates false alerts. I've ran it from Florida to Maine with no problems in any state except Va where I turned it off because they are illegal in Va but for those states it also has a VG2 shield that makes it invisible to radar detector detectors its a little more expensive (about $295) but so are speeding tickets which if you purchase one and get a radar ticket while using it they will pay for any tickets within a year. :smash:
Re: Anyone selling a radar detector??? (INDEBT4MYVETTE)
I have a Cobra as well, model 9100 (it's a year old)
It's not the best, but for $80 I'm happy with it. I have picked up oncoming radar as far as a mile away.
If you're on a budget I'd say Cobra is the way to go.
