I've had my car about a year now, and just recently tried to put a CD that I made (a burnt CD) into my stock Bose System CD Player. The car will sometimes read the Disc, and other times will pop it out and say "error". Out of curosity does anyone else have this problem? and if so, is there anyway to get the Player to play burnt CD's all the time like normal?
Re: 94 Bose System CD Player Problems (Springer's 95)
Mine works the same way -- sometimes it plays CD-Rs, sometimes not. It is common on all C4 CD players. Probably due to their age (i.e. lack of current technology).
Re: 94 Bose System CD Player Problems (Vettegirl94)
I have a Plextor 24X burner and my '90 plays them all.
It is starting to get funny in the middle of a CD though (all types). I think it is about time for a rebuild.
Welcome to the forum....and yes this is a very common problem. My 90 wouldn't play my burned disks but they play in every other CD player I own. I guess they weren't of quit good enough quality to make it.....more like the Bose player wasn't up to par....old technology and a POS to boot.
Re: 94 Bose System CD Player Problems (LPDesRoche)
Nice to see another woman on the forum! Welcome!! :seeya Yep, very common, mine usually won't play anything if it's less than 75 degrees outside. It is very fincky. Might want to just replace the Bose stuff. :p:

Re: 94 Bose System CD Player Problems (Vettegirl94)
Yeah same problem here, some of the CD-R media does not play in my 94's Bose. Memorex CD-Rs seems to work flawlessly.
I think my Bose is going out slowly. It seems like the bass is slowly fading, or it could be I heard my girlfriends 2002 Z28 system and it made my bose sound like a spark-o-matic.

Re: 94 Bose System CD Player Problems (Vettegirl94)
another thing you might want to try is to burn the CD at a slower speed. some CD players have problems reading CD burned at higher speeds. i burn mine at 2x even if it takes a while.

Re: 94 Bose System CD Player Problems (Vettegirl94)
The CD Player in my Bose started acting up in my 94. I talked to a guy I know at local car stereo shop about fixing it. It took 4 days because they had to order the parts (CD and Cassette Players). I pulled the head unit out myself and they only charged me $125 to fix it.
