Hey everyone, well now I have some questions regarding my 96. The first thing I noticed was that the interior lights turn on when you turn around the headlight *****. The also turn on when I come back to the car later and use to key to open the door. However, they then turn off even when the door is open. I have to manually turn the dimmer switch again. Is this normal or what can I do about it?
But the interior lights should come on when you open either door.
If you leave the doors open long enough though, they will turn off so as not to run the battery down.
You other thread about the radio not turning off when you open the door is also worth noting here.
If the door switch is bad on the drivers door, then of course the interior lights won't turn on when you open the door.
So let me get this straight. If the door is open for a few seconds (mine is about 15) the interior lights will turn off unless I turn it back on from the dimmer switch? This is the first car I've ever had that did this and I think it's not that great of an idea, otherwise other cars, even expensive ones like Mercedes, BMW's etc... don't have this feature. The only feature regarding the interior lights are on most cars today. The interior lights will stay on when you shut off your engine and even after you get out of your car. Then the lights will shut off after 30 seconds.
