slick fx3's Superram (lotsa pics)

11:1 383 AFR 195 head, formerly XFI280 cam going to 220/230 HR
I had 2 days left of vacation so did a mad 2 day thrash on this wasnt sure if it could be done in that time.
Filled close to 3/4 of a coffee can full of shavings not to mention all thats on the floor and god knows where else I couldnt recover.
One day Illl learn to take a decent pic just not into editing or touching pics up- they are the way they are.
Actuallly Im just lazy.
Old (early) Accel piece box stock

Making a mess. Used a very large agressive carbide due to time or lack of
Makes for a pain to pretty it up with rolls but makes headway quick
Its some of the areas you cant see here and especially when you flip it over are hinder the flow on these. Huge step up from a stocker though.

Typical porting and approx a 1" siamese just because
Stock
Not fun siamesing and trying to make it look like something.
As some know one port is a touch higher than the other so once that wall is knocked out it takes on a funky look not like a typical figure 8 youd think.
Ill go out on a limb and say siamesing not needed on a 350. Cutting the runner dividers out of the plenum and rounding the diving wall on the runners couldnt hurt though.
Still more cleaning up to do looking a lil rough still

Finally adding a little bling. Once upon a time someone attempted to polish it.
Gave it a little love, much better. Not perfect but presentable.
Didnt bother with the flanges just the parts of tubes that show

BTW intake used a 1205 gasket and came in just a touch smaller.
Went back later and pulled the middle hump of the runners down more to blend into the lid better.
Hopefully he picks a little something up from all this.

It is seeing stuff like this that gives me that itch to send the XT down to you... I think it'd be a fun one. Just so tired of having the motor apart.

I got the SR home! the work is awesome! and burgers with Ron for dinner wasn't bad either.
I spoke with him once and he was a cool dude. That is a nice SR.

That siamese should raise the peak a bit......what do you think, 2 or 3 hundred?

Usa'sOnlyWay-I havent forgotten, always up for it! Nice doing something different once in awhile.
ccumber-would have liked to do the test also in order to have real life numbers to back up the work.
Time was a constraint but it was there. Day or two before was told Id need the entire SR assembled not just base/base+runners to be accurate (for him to put his name on it which makes sense). That would have taken some time and Im betting he wasnt up to watching me curse out the SR while trying to put it on there. We all know its a pain
Caboboy-Im not sure how much that would raise the ceiling especially on a monster like yours. What you have shouuuld be amplified in its range just not sure how much farther up to be honest. Some say 100 rpm/inch but who knows yours will want a ton of air period. Be fun to find out!
What Id give to have a sonic tester and go after the SRs last little bit. Holes are no fun btdt
Slick- Very curious to hear your driving impressions as most say the size cam you are going to run is optimum vs the ones that like the 280 perhaps 1989TransAm would like that data too. Always good to compare.
So youve had the stock SR with the 280 both with a stick..and auto
Now the smaller cam with a breathed on SR.
Difference would be nice to see you posting about, where it improved or??
Sure like to know.
Still surprised at how bad that cam got chewed up, post up a pic here.
Looks like a few lobes were on their way out.
Thanks for dinner! Burgers were good despite a waitress who was probably on crack.
