Default 1989 _All smog removed....HELP!

love the thread guys and need some help. Prevouse owner "bucherd" the wiring under the hood. AC and cooling fans dont operate like they should along with other stuff. AC controller works wen it want to or flickers eraticaly. Ive got an 89 and want to remove all the smog crap. I will be sending the harness to Jims Performance to convert to 1990 MAP instead of MAS. Good by and good riddens. Ive been through so many MAFs I lost count and they are not cheap. Also like mounting a K&N right to the throttle body as it really cleand up the mess...Pros? Cons?

Heres what Im doing.
1) Smog pump assy GONE!
2) Can I remove the EGR ( Under the intake manifold) and the mess of hoses that go with it without causing error codes
3) I think the tube that crosses over the top of the Pass valve cover is the EGR tube & temp sensor it runs to the back #8 exhaust manifold. ( CAN I REMOVE IT (If yes: What do I do about the hole in the manifold)?
4) Is the stock water pump a reverse rotation? I just bought it and hate to have to go by another one.Reason: I want to do away with having to buy the Smog conversion Pulley (`150.00)

Tied of taking 6 hours to change plugs and and miles of useless CR_P.

I want a simple motor with AC and power steering.....

It is probably simpler to go aftermarket EFI than go to a '90 ECM you might take a look at the Haltech replacement GM ECU and see if it uses the same plugs etc as your factory one it might simplify the wiring a bunch.

Hey mate! I've already done what you're wanting to do. Forget the 90 EFM. There is an easier and cheaper way. I'm running a MAP sensor system on my 89 and there are a few things you need to do. I see that you are in Florida. I am in Miami and can give you the info on how to do it and who you need to contact for the change over. You will need to change your ECM to a different year and probably one from a different car, but it's no big deal. Dynamic EFI can do everything you need done to make the ECM swap and they were extremely helpful doing my conversion. They have everything you will need to do the conversion and will do the necessary work to the ECM to have it ready to install. You will have some pin out to do, but you can use your existing harness. (http://www.dynamicefi.com/) They can also supply you with the proper MAP sensor. I even have mine set up with a pig tail cord extending down into the cab from the new ECM so I can plug into the ECM for tuning purposes without having to pull the ECM out from the dash anymore. A great convenience I might add! If you would like to discuss this further, contact me through a pm and give me your phone number and I can better fill you in as to what you need to do.
I love it! No more MAF sensor, and I am also running a Super Ram system with a 4 inch intake to the throttle body straight from the air cleaner.

Default No emissions in Florida

No emissions check in Florida and thank for the compliment. When I got her she was in VERY rough shape. I would really like to simplify her.
1)Basic cable controlled air cond control( no more digital)
2) Do away ith all the emissions crap and clean up the engine room to simplify maint.

Bring it back to old school
