LT4 Top Speed?

Lets here how fast you have had em? What do the specs say?

I think that the math works out to be about 174. Haven't had mine that quick, however. It is limited by the rev limiter in 5th, at 6400RPM. I've never really gone for top speed - the fastest I've had mine is high 130's.

I had mine up to 150 before i put in the 4:10 gears. :seeya

I think road tests and owner averages show 175 as a good number.

I haven't gotten there...yet, but close.:)

Also when I did the math for 6400 in 5th, I come up with ~190.

Just an FYI for what it is worth , Car and Driver tested a Grand Sport back in 96 and only got it to trap 104 in the 1320 but it did post an actual 168 mph top speed. That low trap speed (I think 107+ is more typical) probably due to mediocre driving and a relatively low hp test car. Motor Trend tested a Grand Sport and a Collector Edition (both LT4's) that year and they trapped 109 and 107 just for reference......
