I think it was because after I cleared the codes and made sure all I got was 12. I drove the car again and it through code 34 again. This sucks yesterday it was fine today this haha.

not sure how to diagnose it. the haynes says that air leaks can cause a 34. also dirty TB, which you cleaned, air lks at TB. sensors, relays. I would feel worse if I replaced a $$$ item and found a vac hose, loose runner bolts, etc.

The fact that after he cleared out the code, he was able to set it again. The relays were definatley a good call. You may be able to pick up some electrical contact cleaner and give the contacts a good spray.

I was having a similar problem with my 86. The car's idle just didn't seem right. Your rough idle is a little worse than mine. Anyway I started with the vac lines and found about 10 of them shot. I also replaced the vac canister because I had a fuel smell also. I probably could of changed the filter but; it was cheap and easy to swap out. Three bolts on my intake were loose. Also there is a small piece of rubber vac line under the driver's seat that joins two pieces of alum lines together. (Another member told me about that) After all this and about $125 my car idles at 600 in gear with the A/C on.

I hope this helps a little...

Well after much checking found the part numbers for the relays 1986. They are

GM 10067925 MAF power
GM 10094701 MAF burn off
GM 14078914 Fuel pump

BW R3009 MAF power
BW R671 MAF burn off
BW R761 Fuel pump

GP MR22 MAF power
GP MR82 MAF burn off
GP MR5 Fuel pump

Got the parts at auto zone. Also found a cracked plug so changed them as well. So far so good it seems fine now. Want to drive it for a few days before I declare it fixed.

Would the car have more codes if the MAF wasn't working??
