torque converter question
Should my torque conv rattle when shaken?
Motor is out and rebuilt. Before re-install we removed t.c. and replaced the front seal for added insurance. When my son picked it up he noticed it sounded loose inside. It shakes inside making a loose sound. Likely to be the fins.
Is this normal?

If you didnt have any problems with the converter before you removed the eng. I would say that is the turbin wheel you hear when you rock it back and forth. No problem's, the wheel rides on the input shaft of the transmission so it will float arround when not installed.

I purchased this car not running. The previous owner didn't mention there was any issues w the tranny. To my knowledge this was a neglected, but daily driven car.
I have the balanced long block ready for tin wear. Looking forward to driving the car.
