Went out to the '89 today and started it. It hadn't run in over 6 months. When I finally got it running I noticed gas leaking and the smell of stale gas. The #1 injector was spraying gas out the top of it...or should I say gas was spraying from the rail right above it.
I guess I have to replace the o-ring but was wondering if anyone has an easy way to do it without taking plenum, runners and rail off.
Thanks

rail has to come off for sure. plenum, too. there is a way to disassemble the rail asm without removing runners -which are the biggest part of the whole job.
it is on this site, in the sicky's above, I believe.

Unless aftermarket injectors were install (without the retention clips), it's necessary to pull the rails. And, you can accomplish that by removing the plenum only. EGR might also have to come out to get at one of the bolts.
For some aftermarket injectors w/o the clips, it is possible to r/r the injector as it sits.
Thanks. These o-rings are only about three years old, is there a possibilty that the ethanol or whatever is in the gas today is causing them to breakdown prematurely?
