Motor Comp. vs supercharged PSI
My problem is my motor was built with 11:1 comp. (on paper) do to pistons and 52cc heads. My higher duration cam will bleed off some.
My question is what compression do I need to be at for a mild supercharger?
Be aware of the following limitations with nitrous
a. the initial 'hit' punch quickly drops off as rpms build
b. a half full bottle will provide less HP/TQ than a full bottle...EVEN WHEN USING A BOTTLE HEATER TO SPRAY AT THE SAME PSI.
c. I want 100% of that power to be there all the time. Not just when I have a full bottle and have the bottle opened.
Sorry about the caps (i know some people dont like it), but i want to emphasize that. Its for those 3 reasons that I got rid of the nitrous and am supercharged
Ive been through nitrous / done that and am happiest with a supercharger.
If you want street performance thats always there 100% of the time:
Go FI. A centrifugal with a big pulley (to limit your boost to 5/6 psi or so maximum) AND methanol injection (to cool the charge) is your ticket. Id refer you to greg at blowerworks for c4 applications.
All this said, I ran my fastest time w/ nitrous. I have yet to run my latest supercharged setup.
