Default 1992 Air Conditioning

I've read multiple posts describing how people have tested their ac compressor. I can see the 2 wire (green/black) connection on top on the compressor and I've found an electrical connection on the low side line (large line) and an electrical connection on the high side line (small line). I'd appreciate some instructions on how to do this.

I've also read that I could start the car and then press the up/down fan buttons to put the car in diagnostic mode, looking for "00"s and then a diagnostic code - but I don't see this happening anywhere - where will the 00s appear? ( I've looked on the speedometer area and the square info panel above the radio. I could use some help here.

Much thanks,

LT

...for the AC I'll probably have a vacuump pulled on the system then use the convert kit to move to 134 but wanted to test the compressor to see if it works. The things blows really well but compressor doesn't cycle on.

The AC cycling switch is on the low side line with 1 blue wire and 1green/yellow wire--jump those wires together and IF the problem is a low refrigerant charge the comp. clutch should engage.

If you have C68 (electronic) climate control--to check for codes hold the fan up and down arrows for 5 seconds--'00" should appear in the lcd hvac display--then press the fan "auto" button if you have a code it will show in the display. If the system has seen a fault while running the led above the fan switch will blink. If that is happening check for codes with the key on-- do not turn the ignition off and then back on-- the hvac system doesn't have a "memory" per say.

much thanks, my friend.

I jumped the wires and the inner wheel on the compressor kicks right on. So I'll pull a vacuum to boil off any moisture in the system and find out if I've got a leak and then charge the unit and hopefully avoid sweating it out in this 105 degree Texas weather.

again - many thanks and godspeed mi amigo.
