BAD DUCK, What the heck is YOUR PROBLEM with FIC???
Your obvious attitude towards anyone who uses FIC is becoming pathetic.
Take your ball home.
Its only been documented about 83,000,000 times that the stock mule-tic injectors clog in the nozzel, short out, fail their ohms test because of faulty coils, and do so with predictability ! No BODY even rebuilds them or even wants to clean them...whats that say?
As far as FIC and Jon,. I'd trust that man with my life. He's a good guy and he's been good to many people that I know, returning and exchanging HIS products whenever there was ANY doubt. Thats service, not BS talk.
To the OP,
if you got 24 lb/hr inj simply dial down the fuel pressure to 32 psi and that will drop the spray back to approx 22 lbs/hr like stock. The Bosch-III can do that because they are a different nozzel than the mule-tic. They can still spray well at reduced pressure.
If you drive civilized with that stuff, (most wasn;t necessary) you should get 27 hiway @ around 65 mph...avg 19-21. Mines more modded and I can touch 29-30 with a tail wind behind me and a B&W beside me...

That's what I figured. You have a problem with FIC and just can't quite share your pain.
So you lash out at every turn in a feeble attempt to upset the OP.
Sooner or later this board will figure it/you out for themselves.
My two cents....dud. Err dooood!

What kind of tires did you go with? They make tires for improved mpg. I believe skinnier tires or higher tire pressure will also help. How many miles do you have on the cats and what exhaust mods did you make? Bad cats will kill gas mileage. There's also a lot of weight to be lost with a muffler and resonator delete.
I went the other direction. I modded the Vette for performance and lost some mpg. I bought a small 4cyl 5spd truck to use for distance driving and to save on gas. It's nice to have some hauling ability when needed too.

I know my injectors were shot. FIC knew exactly what I was talking about and even if they were not worn out, which they were, then it's just one less thing I had to replace down the road. Let me say this, bigger injectors were for FUTURE mods which I may or may not do now. Depends. My tune is correct and it's fine with it. PCMforless did what I asked and my mechanic fine tuned it. I was asking if anyone had any OTHER ideas on what I could do. I never said I did anything new or better than you guys. I just needed someone elses advice...
I would prefer FIC not to be bashed in my thread as I only want true advice on how to get better mileage. If no one has anything else to add that will benefit me or someone else, then forget it. I did not mean to cause trouble and the 24 lb injectors have NOTHING to do with getting better mileage or making more power. Never said that/meant anyone to think that....I merely stated that bad injectors according to the internet/views CAN cause bad fuel mileage. No more no less.....
Just to add something useful, I *heard* that nitrogen in tires were better than air. I researched it and it seems to be false. Anyone have any hard facts to back prove or disprove it?

Change to thinner head gaskets to increase compression ratio. Stock TPI is .051" thick. Victor Reinz makes .025" thick gaskets that will raise compression about .5-.6 points and improve quench (about $50/set). This will improve mileage about .5-.8 mpg and increase power a little. It's not worth the hassle unless you're getting into the engine for somthing else but it is a proven way to improve both mpg, power and even emissions.

Nitrogen does not contain water moisture. Therefore it is not affected by temperature changes. Pressure remains constant, therefore rolling resistance is consistent. Using nitrogen will optimize rolling resistance. It will not make your car go faster or get better gas mileage that you can measure.
Have your tires road force balanced and go with a higher pressure. Keep an eye on this as it is the easiest way to get better mileage. Wider tires will affect mileage as well. Keep as close to stock as possible.
I drive my '85 4+3 like a granny and generally get around 22-23 combined DD mileage. My trip to work has about 3 miles of neighborhood stop signs and a couple of lights. Then its an on ramp to merge with 6 lanes and 6 miles of interstate so I dont hesitate to use heavier throttle to gain the lane I need. Off interstate for 5 miles of expressway type 4 lane with a couple of lights then 4 more miles of neighborhood 4 lane with several lights. I fill up and drive two weeks as long as I dont go much of anywhere else. Road trips I get around 25-26 mpg at 70 mph or less. I travel the FL pan handle quite a bit so its pretty flat most of the way.
I keep the gauge set to instant mileage and keep a close eye on it. Thats the best way to make sure you are using a light foot. I drive the speed limit and I dont worry if someone wants to go faster than me.
Looks like you have done most everything mechanically to get the best mileage you can. the only thing I might suggest is improving the exhaust. Since you didnt really explain in detail about your exhaust improvements I would get some long tube headers, some high flowing cats and mufflers and at least 2.5" pipe in between. That will help with performance and maybe you will need to use less throttle to get you where you need to go. Dont be sucked into goosing it to make it sound off tho, lol. That wont help ya out.
Just did a 1100 mile round trip averaging 27.1MPG in my '98 coupe. Not bad considering there was a good not of spirited driving along the way. The LS motors are simply awesome!
