I have an 84 that makes creaking noises when sitting still or moving slowly, right or left. Sounds like it's coming from everywhere in the front end, hard to pin point where it's coming from. So far I have eliminated the steering shaft. Had it lubed recently. What suggestions?

Interesting...how? theres not really anything to lube on the steering shaft.
You'll have to jack it up and get someone to turn the steering wheel while you listen. It can be ball joints, tie rod ends, the rack itself or the A-arm bushings. It ALL moves and wears...
I'd pay particular attention to the R&P and the sleeves and seals.
No, I meant I had the car lubed recently. And also I had the steering shaft looked at. How can you tell the difference if you jack it up and listen as to whether it's one of those?

I have an 84, with exactly the same sound as you have described -I have not been able to figure out what is causing it, but you MAY be able rule out the rack because mine was replaced about a year ago and it makes the same sound.
