Default Headers and air pump

I am planning on test fitting my headers this weekend on my 87 L98 and do some work to them before I send them off for ceramic coating inside and out.
But I don't know if I should disconnect the air pump and all the junk that goes with it or weld on the air tubes to the headers to keep it more stock appearing. there are no precats on the car. It would look cleaner without the air pump, but I dont care for the looks or price of the delete kit.
I do like to enter the car in car shows in the C4 stock class, and wonder if that will affect classing at Corvette shows. I realize the car won't be worth alot of money in my lifetime, but it is my pride and joy.

Besides , what exactly does the air pump do, especially if you have no precats?
Just looking for some thoughts and advice.

Only to clean up the place the engine lives.

AIR system injects air into the cats to light them off quicker, its the precats at startup and the main cat after that.

Delete it.
