You are correct. My only plan for this car is to be one badazz street car with some occasional runs down the strip. I have no intentions (or enough funds) for a crazy motor. This is just some ideas I'm putting together, and that question just proved the fact that I haven't thought this through enough!
Keep Blower Boost at 6 -9 psi.
Even old TRW forged pistons are just fine for your application.
They are a tough piston even yet today.
Very thick piston crowns- domes or dishes.
Top piston ring placement is around .300".
Perfect for a mild to moderate blown application.
Don't need a light weight piston & not desired in a Roots Blown application.
Now Sealed Power pistons- Federal Mogul.
I would use a Ductile Iron - Plasma Moly faced top ring package though.
Piston ring seal will last with Roots Blown Boost & your right gas foot planted hard.
I wonder how he got that big azz drive belt to fit in there... I just wanna keep this as cheap and simple as possible.
I would guess he moved the rack forward enough forward to clear the Gilmer pulley. May not be the best for bump steer, but it looks like it could be done. Break out the welder....
