My old 85 with the ZZ4 was 350 HP and over 400 Torque.....

on tuesday night i started looking for the ECM. i think its under the heater on the passanger side. it got late and hot and i quite for the night.
i hope to have it in tomorrow night, ill let you know. Nick
It is located under the passenger side hush panel. Remove the panel and you will see TOO many wires....scary...... you almost have to be on your back to see up inside...at least that is what I do. If you look up the computer is in a vertical position held in place with two (2) 10MM bolts I believe. You can unscrew the bolts and drop the computer down. You will find a cover held in place by two small bolts. Remove one and loosen the other the turn the cover 180 and the chip is under the cover. BE SURE that you have disconnected the battery before you start messing with the computer.
Pull out the chip and replace it with mine. You can leave the computer where it is at. Reconnect the battery and start the beast.....

Keep in mind, crate engines, such as the ZZ4, were rated in gross flywheel HP/TQ rather then net, meaning no air cleaner with its plumbing and long tube open headers, no exhaust system . I've dynoed many ZZ4 conversions that had less HP/TQ at the wheel then a stock LT1. When the 300 HP LT1 was introduced for 92, GM rightly claimed that it was the most powerful small block that they ever produced for the general public.

The stock LT1 has 300 HP. My friend and I took out cars to the 1/4 mile track last September. My 85 with the ZZ4 was turning 13.3's all night long in 97 degree weather. My friend got the 94 down to 14.1 through the 1/4.
