What is the difference ?

Can you use a standard oil pressure switch in place of the pressure switch in a 4+3 overdrive.

I doubt it
A idiot light switch goes open ( light goes off ) with oil pressure ;
IIRC the 4+3 switch goes closed with pressure, allowing the O/d to operate.

You should talk to one off the few 4+3 experts left around.
