1986 air pump delete.....
I have an early 1986 coupe and want to eliminate the air pump. I have seen alot of kits for this but; I would like to eliminate another pulley if I can. I would rather move the alternator and eliminate the "delete kit". Has anyone done this on a 1986 before.

I don't own an '86 but I think that it is possible to "delete the delete kit" by doing an AC delete and replacing your waterpump. I believe that you've got to replace the water pump because with the new routing, it'll be running backwards; But I have heard that someone did this without replacing the pump and just let the coolant run backwards without any problem.
This entire mod will require a new belt though.
I'm sure someone can get you an alternate belt diagram.
However if you have access to a mill and lathe you can easily make your own bracket in an hour or so. If you can deal with a bandsaw and a drillpress you can probably do it in two hours. If hacksaw and handrill is the limit of your fab tool kit, then you're probably out of luck as far as making your own delete kit.
