Flashing climate control button light question......
I know I am a pain but today my Climate control light starts blinking after starting the car but goes off after a minute of so. My owners manual is very vague on it except to say there is a problem with the air condition system and to bring it to the dealership, Ya right!!!! I don't think so :smash:

Kevin, my '92 did this last fall. It was low on freon due to a leak in the system. I had it repaired at Team Chevy in Westmont Ill. by Jason. Car is fine now. It cost me $400.00.. But I need the airco, I can't take the heat...

airco=Air Conditioning?? You can check the codes in the Electronic Climate Control by pushing both the fan up and down arrows at the same time until the display reads -00. Use the up or down arrow to read the codes
The first set (Parameter 0) of codes you might find is 09 Low Freon Detected. This is what causes the lights above the OFF button and any one you select to flash and not getting cooling.
The system only takes a couple pound of refrigerant so just a small loss will set a code. You could have a leak or a bad low pressure side switch. Have a reputable A/C shop check the pressures and if it's low, they should recharge the system and add a leak detector. Then they can look for indications of refigerant leakage.
My 92 holds abut 2 1/4 lbs of R12, so plan on that cost plus the labor for the work. Just hope it isn't the condensor!!
