On L98s if it throws the code on start up it's likely the EGR Temp. Sw on the EGR tube from the right header or it's cable is shorted to ground.
If it only throws after driving a while at highway speed for a few minutes it is most likely the the EGR Valve under the right rear of the plenum but could be the EGR Solenoid under the front of the plenum near the thermostat housing or even the EGR Temp. Sw. Often the EGR Valve gets clogged with carbon and cannot respond to ECM signals.
First check that all vacuum lines to/from the EGR Solenoid are in tact.
I just went through this with my 92 last week. It threw a code 32 (according to the Autoxray) while at normal freeway speeds. I replaced both the EGR and the solenoid...got it from the dlr.... $81 total....so far, all is well after putting on 50 miles. Take a good look at the vacuum hoses on the EGR circut for leaks. :smash:
When mine threw a 32, it was the little switch in the EGR tube. It had cracked at the insulator and was giving intermiitent signals. It was $7 at the dealer.
