Default 92 front spring removal

If I remove the shock and lower ball joint so the bottom arm drops and the top arm can be held up. Will this give me enough room to get the spring out? The book calls for some spring compresor mechanism? Is this a must or is there a workaround? Thanks
Oh forgot to add all I am wanting is to install the lowering wedges.

Bottom arm won't drop much.
Needed leverage ( 2nd person with bar) to push against the bushes tension so it could be lowered out of way.
You need the front high in the air to allow the spring to arc down to the ground as you lever it out.

I had mine on a lift and even then it was almost a two person job to get enough leverage to release it.

there is a metal bracket looking thing on each side of the car right bt the lower a-arm mounting points. if you remove these it makes it much easier to get the spring out.

I forgot about that splash/debris deflector - remove it first.

Can the rubber bumpers on the end of the springs be removed for some added drop without any adverse effects?
