porting plenum, cut off screw holders that hang?
There are a lot of things that don't make sense. One of which are the nipples hanging down at the back. It is supporting a cosmetic cover. Why not cut them off, tap it bigger and run a bolt that makes it flush? I get the ones farther up, they actually support runners.
The other is the empty space above the two vacuum line taps. Why wouldn't gm block it off for smoother flow. And with another nipple there it seems like there would be stagnant air there, and I know that this is a bad thing in exhaust so it must be even worse for an intake.
Has anyone just cut off the nipples and welded a metal sheet over the dead air compartment rear of the passenger side?

As poorly as the stock TPI flows, these things are not going to have much affect ...WW

I can only imagine how much that would hurt.

You can cut them off and weld shut or use a shorter screw wont hurt.
Dont think youd feel any improvement but if youre after every little bit..
Guessing GM wasnt too concerned about a hi po piece as it was designed for a smogger 305 and only needed so much air.
