Default 92 hatch release switch voltage test question

The hatch release on the end of my passngr door and inside the glove box work fine, the driver door switch feels and looks good but does not work. I tested voltage on the passngr switch and see 12v there, no voltage on the driver side door across the two wires.

So the switch probably is good but either the 12v or ground wire are bad connections, right? I think the driver door got a lot of water down in it over a period of time, does that wire terminate in there somewhere?

I have the FSM but I'm not good at reading electrical, sorry.

THANKS in advance for any experience you can share.
