So I would look for a drag radial that is size 275/40 R17? I get confused on drag radial sizes...

Actually I would like the use the factory 84' Wheels for the drag radial so all I have to do is switch wheels in the rear when I go. I know the factory size is 255/50 R16. Can I get drag radials in that size? Whats the widest tire I can put on them? It's a factory Z51 car. Thanks for all the help.

You will likely be looking a 245/50r16.The 255 is obsolete and nonexistent. That should hook the car fine.Don't go for any more tire than you need.It does take hp to move big heavy wide tires down the track.

I never broke mine in over 100 passes on ET Streets including probably 30 or 40 passes on a 150hp nitrous shot and low 1.5x 60-foot times. In my opinion, the key to life for a Dana 44 is retaining the dual mass flywheel since it cushions the hit.
