When I do a direct "battery to horn" test, do I run separate wires from
the pos. & neg. sides of the battery directly to BOTH horn leads or no.
Specifically, how do I make this connection to test my horns. As you can see, I know nothing about electrical wiring. Thanks
Try this lock your door with the window down then reach in and try to open it so the security alarm goes off. It could be the plastic turn signal cam inside the steering column. There's a wire that goes through it with a spring on it to make contact to operate the horns. Over time it gets brittle and cracks and won't make contact anymore. Pipe

Thanks. Since the BAD horn button switch has been pulled (new one in
transit, WHEW!), I've done the test you mention, to find out if the horn relay and horns are faulty. Still, I get no horn sound. Now I want to run wires directly from the battery to the horns to see if they are bad. Problem is, I am not familiar with this kind of connection.
