I am new 2 this forum & it seems like a great place 2 get help, so here goes. After finding that my TPS was faulty on my 94 Vette I bought a new 1. Included with the TPS was a little piece of paper that says " TPS Learn Procedure" & it says exactly as follows: " The following information applies only to 1992 & subsequent model Corvettes using the ABS/ASR system. Ok I want u to remember the word "subsequent" which means occurring later or after so in this case means 1992 & up. The paper goes on to say the following. " TPS learn procedure-F203. If the TPS is replaced the EBCM must "learn" the TPS idle position voltage with the new componets installed. This is necessary to ensure effective engine torque reduction during ASR events. The procedure requires a T-1(Tech1) or T-100(CAMS) unit. This procedure will be described using the Tech1.
1. Ignition "OFF"
2. connect Tech1 with '88-92 BRAKE CARTRIDGE. Now before I move on here is where the word subsequent comes into play. I can see why it is needed if I have a '88-92 but what is needed if you have a '94 like me?
3. Ignition "ON"
4. Follow menus to reach ABS/ASR features.
5. Select "F5: TPS LEARN."
6. Press "^" to begin learn procedure.
7. Wait for Tech1 to indicate "COMPLETE"
8. Ignition "OFF"
9. Disconnect Tech1.
I have a couple of things. Can this be done without the Tech1 or since I have a 94 model & it says use a 88-92 brake cartridge do I even need to do it at all? Or is the 88-92 cartridge used for subsequent years also?
I decided to just install the sensor & started the car & the engine revved very high I just shut it off.!! I was under the impression that the voltage could not be adjusted on the 94's or am I wrong & should I try & get what little movement there is if any to achieve the correct me if I am wrong the 0.54-0.55vdc? Thanks for any & all help & sorry for the long post but I wanted to make sure that I covered every detail..!! Lol.
I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say that if you d/c the battery as is advised in most elect repairs, the system won;t know the difference when the TPS is re-energized at the next start up. It might be out of position by a bit, but that can be adjusted later. If the motor revs high at start up it should drop immediately. The TPS adjustment is pretty small, so start out at the min or close to that and try it.
are you doing wheel sensors or the reciever? i may have missed something. but i did just pull 3 working and one broken tps out of my 95. i threw one of them on the interstate 5 hours from home.... haha. but anyways. need sensors?

TPS: Throttle position sensor
TPMS: Tire pressure monitoring system
Thanks for clarifying. I really H8 it when people do not read posts & comprehend then post a response that has no merit whatsoever.!! Thanks again bro..! Oh BTW it turns out that the TPS was the right 1 but it is defective because the slotted part on the TPS that is supposed 2 line up with the little blade on the TB is way out of wack causing the TB blade 2 have 2 be opened some causing the RPM 2 be way high when I started the car. After comparing the position 2 the old 1 I now see the issue with the new TPS. I returned the new 1 & the dealer is gonna order another. Thx 4 all the help, consider this post closed.!! I hope!!! Lol..
im sorry. 2,3,or 4 letter codes are a little harder to comprehend, and because of said "meritless people" things are posted incorrectly. hope your TPS gets fixed.
